SPECIAL GUEST
NEIL HARBISSON
Neil Harbisson is a contemporary artist and activist recognized as the world’s first official cyborg. He has an antenna implanted in his skull that allows him to "hear" colors (including infrared and ultraviolet) through sound vibrations. Thanks to an internet connection, he can receive images, music, and even signals from space directly into his head.Harbisson identifies as a cyborg and a transspecies individual—believing that he is technology itself, rather than just a user of it. He argues that merging with technology allows us to design our own senses and better protect our planet. In 2010, he co-founded the Cyborg Foundation, an organization that supports the development of cyborgism as a social and artistic movement, and defends cyborg rights.
